Botelho (7-2-0) is looking to rebound from her first UFC defeat, which came at the hands of Cynthia Calvillo at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires. Botelho had previously won two bouts in the UFC, with those wins coming over the duo of Pearl Gonzalez and Syuri Kondo. Botelho is a former XFC International Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Silvana Gomez Juarez to win the gold in September of 2015.
Mueller (5-1-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Shana Dobson at UFC On Fox 29. Mueller earned a contract with the UFC after competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 8, defeating Kelly McGill-Velasco by unanimous decision. Mueller has seen four of her six professional MMA bouts go the distance and the fighter has won all of those encounters.
UFC 236 takes place on Saturday, April 13 from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia with Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
