Report: Kidnapping Charges Dropped Against Antwain Fisher
UFC fighter Walt Harris’ stepdaughter Aniah Blanchard was kidnapped on October 23 and her body was discovered by the authorities on November 26.
Three men were arrested in connection with her disappearance and murder, with those people being Ibraheem Yazeed, David Lee Johnson Jr. and Antwain Fisher.
Fisher was accused of being an accomplice to Yazeed, who has been accused of kidnapping and murdering Blanchard, by providing transportation for him and for disposing of evidence.
However, Lee County Assistant District Attorney Garrett Saucer filed a motion to dismiss the charges against Fisher according to the Montgomery Advertiser.
“The investigation has since revealed that Fisher was not present during the commission of the principal offense,” the motion stated. “Fisher’s conduct is akin to that of a common-law ‘accessory after the fact’ which has been made a separate offense entirely.”
Saucer also states that since Fisher’s alleged involvement in the case didn’t take place in Lee County, so the issue would need to be dealt with at a separate jurisdiction.
Judge Russell Bush granted the motion to dismiss Fisher on Tuesday and it was dismissed with prejudice, meaning that Fisher cannot be charged with the same charge in Lee County.
Yazeed and Johnson Jr. are still being charged with their respective crimes at this time, both are also still incarcerated at this time as well.
