Report: Kevin Holland Faces Joaquin Buckley At UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik
A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik as Kevin Holland faces Joaquin Buckley.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Holland (17-5-0) has won four of six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over John Phillips, Gerald Meerschaert, Alessio Di Chirico and Alex Munoz. Holland was supposed to compete this past weekend at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan, but his opponent in Trevin Giles passed out and the bout was canned. Holland has picked up seventeen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Buckley (10-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut this weekend and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Buckley won three of five when competing in Bellator MMA, with those wins coming over Chris Heatherly, Justin Patterson and Vinicius De Jesus. Buckley has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday, August 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
