Report: Ketlen Vieira vs. Yana Kunitskaya Moved To UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik
An upcoming women’s bantamweight division attraction between #7 Ketlen Vieira and #8 Yana Kunitskaya, originally set for UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana, has been moved to UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana.
Cole Shelton of My MMA News first reported the change, although no reason was given as to why the fight changed cards.
Vieira (10-1-0) is looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came against Irene Aldana at UFC 245. Vieira is back on a Fight Night card for the first time in three-plus years, with her last such appearance coming at UFC Fight Night 96 in October of 2016. Vieira has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of submission.
Kunitskaya (12-5-0-1NC) has won two of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Lina Lansberg and Marion Reneau. Kunitskaya has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title, losing to then champion Cyborg at UFC 222. Kunitskaya has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday, August 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
