Report: Keri Melendez Faces Emilee King At Bellator 242

A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 242 as Keri Melendez is in action against Emilee King.

Marc Raimondi of ESPN first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Melendez (4-0-0) has spent her entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, defeating Sheila Padilla, Tiani Valle, Dakota Zimmerman and Mandy Polk. Melendez is undefeated thus far in her professional MMA career and that streak has already lasted over three years. Melendez has competed four times as a professional MMA fighter and half of those encounters went the distance.

King (4-4-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Ava Knight by first round submission at Bellator 238. King will come into the bout riding a four fight winning streak and she hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year. King has competed a total of eight times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts have ended by way of submission.

Bellator 242 takes place on Saturday, May 9 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Ryan Bader and Vadim Nemkov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
