Report: Kai Kara France Faces Alex Perez At UFC Fight Night San Diego

A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night San Diego as #7 Kai Kara France faces #9 Alex Perez.

MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

France (21-8-0-1NC) has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Elias Garcia, Raulian Paiva, Mark De La Rosa and Tyson Nam. France has suffered a single defeat in the UFC and that loss came to Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision at UFC 245. France has competed five times thus far in the UFC and all five of those encounters went to the judges scorecards.

Perez (23-5-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the aforementioned De La Rosa and Jordan Espinosa. Perez is undefeated thus far when competing on Fight Night cards, going 3-0-0 when competing at such events. Perez also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5, defeating Kevin Gray by first round submission. 

UFC Fight Night San Diego takes place on Saturday, May 16 from the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California with Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
