Report: Justin Gaethje vs. Al Iaquinta Headlines UFC Fight Night Lincoln

A lightweight division attraction is set to headline UFC Fight Night Lincoln according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #7 Justin Gaethje faces #10 Al Iaquinta.

Gaethje (18-2-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier. Gaethje hasn’t picked up a victory in almost a year, with that last victory coming over Michael Johnson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Gaethje was the first and only World Series Of Fighting Lightweight Champion, defeating Richard Patishnock to win the gold at the WSOF 8.

Iaquinta (13-4-1) is competing for the first time since unsuccessfully challenging for the UFC Lightweight Title in the main event of UFC 223. Iaquinta is actually undefeated in “Fight Night” events, holding a 5-0-0 record when competing on those cards. Iaquinta also hasn’t picked up a win in over a year, with that last victory coming over Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 108.

UFC Fight Night Lincoln takes place on Saturday, August 25 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska with Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
