Report: Junior Dos Santos Faces Jairzinho Rozenstruik At UFC 252
A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 252 as #5 Junior Dos Santos faces #6 Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
Combate first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Dos Santos (21-7-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Francis Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes. Dos Santos won’t be headlining a UFC card for the first time in almost five years, with his last non-main event appearance coming at UFC On Fox 17 in December of 2015. Dos Santos is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, defeating Cain Velasquez at UFC On Fox 1 to claim the gold.
Rozenstruik (10-1-0) is competing for the first time since suffering his first loss as a professional MMA fighter, which came against Francis Ngannou at UFC 249. Rozenstruik has competed a total of five times in the UFC and all of the encounters ended by KO/TKO. Rozenstruik has competed eleven times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
UFC 252 takes place on Saturday, August 15 from a location to be announced with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
