Report: Joseph Creer Replaces Doug Usher At Bellator 225
Doug Usher has withdrawn from Bellator 225 according to MMA Junkie, replacing him against Austin Vanderford is Joseph Creer.
Vanderford (7-0-0) has competed once before under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Cody Jones by first round submission at Bellator 215. Vanderford also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Angelo Trevino by second round submission. Vanderford is a former CageSport Welterweight Champion, defeating Ben Fodor to win the gold at CageSports 47 in October of 2017.
Creer (5-0-1) has competed once before in Bellator MMA, defeating Devorious Tubbs by split decision at Bellator MMA/Monster Energy Series Atlanta. Creer has competed six times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those encounters went the distance. Creer is back in action for the first time in over a year, with his last bout taking place in March of 2018.
Bellator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
