Report: Johnny Walker Replaces Ovince St. Preux At UFC 235

Misha Cirkunov needed a new opponent for UFC 235 after Ovince St. Preux was forced to pull out of the event and now he has one, as MMA Fighting is reporting that Johnny Walker has accepted the short notice opportunity.

Cirkunov (14-4-0) has won just one of his last three fights, with that lone victory coming over Patrick Cummins at UFC Fight Night Moncton. Cirkunov has competed a total of seven times in the UFC and none of those bouts went to the judges scorecards. Cirkunov has only seen two of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and the fighter won both of those encounters.

Walker (16-3-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Khalil Rountree and Justin Ledet. Walker also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 2, defeating Henrique Da Silva by unanimous decision. Walker has competed nineteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of his bouts went the distance.

UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
