Report: Joey Davis Faces Jeff Peterson At Bellator 229
A welterweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 229 according to MMA Fighting as Joey Davis is going to be in action against Jeff Peterson.
Davis (5-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, last defeating Marcus Anthony by first round knockout at Bellator 219. Davis has picked up five victories as a professional MMA fighter and three of those wins came by way of KO/TKO. Davis also had a lot of success as an amateur wrestler, going 133-0 as an NCAA Division II competitor at Notre Dame.
Peterson (10-7-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this encounter and is also returning to action for the first time in a year. Peterson has competed seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those encounters went the distance. Peterson also had a four fight run in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, where he picked up a victory over Bellator MMA veteran Mike Richman.
Bellator 229 takes place on Friday, October 4 from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Andrey Koreshkov and Lorenz Larkin headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
