Report: Jimmie Rivera Faces Aljamain Sterling At UFC Fight Night Phoenix
A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Phoenix according to AZ Central as #5 Jimmie Rivera competes against #7 Aljamain Sterling.
Rivera (22-2-0) has won six of seven under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Urijah Faber, Pedro Munhoz, Iuri Alcantara, Thomas Almeida and John Dodson. Rivera has suffered a single defeat in the UFC and that came against Marlon Moraes in the main event of UFC Fight Night Utica. Rivera has picked up twenty two wins as a professional MMA fighter and sixteen of them have come by way of submission.
Sterling (16-3-0) enters the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Brett Johns and Cody Stamann. Sterling has also suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them have come in UFC competition. Sterling has earned sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighters and only two of those have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Phoenix takes place on Sunday, February 17 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
