Report: James Gallagher vs. Cal Ellenor Headlines Bellator London, James Haskell To Make Pro Debut
Maybe the third time is going to be the charm for Bellator MMA as the promotion will book James Gallagher against Cal Ellenor in the main event of Bellator London. The duo were supposed to meet at Bellator 227 and Bellator Dublin, but injuries to both caused those bouts to be canned.
MMA Junkie reported the news and the card is expected to stream live via the Bellator App.
Gallagher (10-1-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, with those wins coming over Steven Graham, Jeremiah Labiano and Roman Salazar. Gallagher has previously headlined two Bellator cards and he was victorious in both bouts. Gallagher has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 204.
Ellenor (8-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Nathan Greyson by first round submission at Bellator MMA Europe 1. Ellenor has previously challenged for the EFC Worldwide Bantamweight Title, losing to Luthando Biko at EFC Worldwide 75. Ellenor has competed a total of ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those encounters went the distance.
James Haskell, former rugby player turned MMA fighter, is also set to make his professional MMA debut on the card, but no opponent has been announced at this time.
Bellator London takes place on Saturday, May 16 from the SSE Arena in London, England with James Gallagher and Cal Ellenor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on the Bellator App.
