Report: Irene Aldana Faces Marion Reneau At UFC Fight Night Mexico City
A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Mexico City according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #9 Marion Reneau is in action against #10 Irene Aldana.
Reneau (9-5-1) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Cat Zingano and Yana Kunitskaya. Reneau hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last victory coming over Sara McMann at UFC On Fox 28. Reneau has suffered five defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses came by way of decision.
Aldana (10-5-0) has won three of her last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Talita Bernardo, Lucie Pudilova and Bethe Correia. Aldana has competed six times in the UFC and five of those six encounters went to the judges scorecards. Aldana has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of those victories came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, September 21 from the Arena Ciudad De Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
