Report: Ilir Latifi Moving Back To Heavyweight
Ilir Latifi has been competing in the UFC for over six years now and has amassed a record of 7-5-0 in the promotion (14-7-0-1NC overall).
However, when the fighter returns to the Octagon, it won’t be at light heavyweight, because Latifi is going to be competing up a weight class at heavyweight.
MMA Junkie, citing Latifi’s fight team, has reported that Latifi is going to heavyweight for the foreseeable future. Latifi began his professional MMA career competing at heavyweight, which included a bout against former WSOF Heavyweight Champion and current UFC fighter Blagoy Ivanov.
There is no word at this time as to when Latifi plans on making his official heavyweight division return, but the fighter recently took to Instagram to hint at a potential fight coming up:
The fighter is currently in the midst of a two fight losing streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Volkan Oezdemir and Corey Anderson. Latifi hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with that last win coming over Ovince St. Preux at UFC On Fox 28 in February of 2018.
