Report: Ian Heinisch Faces Omari Akhmedov At UFC 245

A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 245 as #9 Ian Heinisch is going to be in action against #14 Omari Akhmedov.

Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA (citing ESPN MMA) reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.

Heinisch (13-2-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Cezar Ferreira and Antonio Carlos Jr. Heinisch also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15, defeating Justin Sumter by first round knockout. Heinisch has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both came to fighters currently under a UFC deal.

Akhmedov (19-4-1) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Tim Boetsch and Zak Cummings. Akhmedov is competing for the third time in 2019, making it his most active year as a professional MMA fighter since 2015. Akhmedov has seen seven of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and the fighter won all of those encounters.

UFC 245 takes place on Saturday, December 14 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
