Report: Holly Holm vs. Raquel Pennington II Rescheduled For UFC 246

A rematch that was originally set for UFC 243 is now on for UFC 246 as former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion #3 Holly Holm is in action against #6 Raquel Pennington.

MMA Junkie first reported the news, but its position on the card isn’t known at this time.

Holm (12-5-0) is going to be competing for the first time since losing to UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes via first round TKO at UFC 239. Holm has competed in a total of five title bouts while competing in the UFC, having won just one and that came against Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Holm and Pennington first met back at UFC 184 in February of 2015, with that win coming by way of split decision.

Pennington (10-7-0) has won just one of her last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Irene Aldana at UFC Fight Night San Antonio. Pennington has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title, losing to the aforementioned Nunes at UFC 224. Pennington has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of those encounters went the distance.

UFC 246 takes place on Saturday, January 18 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
