Report: Fares Ziam Steps In At UFC 242

Don Madge was in need of a new opponent for UFC 242 after the withdrawal of Magomed Mustafaev and now he has one because MMA Junkie is reporting that Fares Ziam has accepted the short notice opportunity.

Madge (8-3-1) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Te Edwards by second round knockout at UFC Fight Night Moncton. Madge enters the contest on the strength of a five fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years. Madge has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.

Ziam (10-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Ziam has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of KO/TKO. Ziam has competed a total of twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and only one of those encounters went the distance.

UFC 242 takes place on Saturday, September 7 from The Arena At Yas Island in Abu Dhabi with Khabib Nurmagoemdov and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
