Report: Dominick Cruz Returns vs. Casey Kenney At UFC 259
Dominick Cruz is back, baby, as he will reportedly face Casey Kanney at UFC 259.
Cruz (22-3) vs. Kenney (16-2-1) was first reported by MMA Junkie. “The Dominator” has not competed since his failed bid for the UFC bantamweight title against Henry Cejudo at UFC 249 in May. It was the former champion’s first fight in three-plus years. For Kenny, on the other hand, the fight will mark a five-month lay-off after wins over Nathaniel Wood and Heili Alateng in October.
Cruz has fought 10 times in the past 10 years. He is on the first losing streak of his professional career with consecutive title fight losses to Cejudo and Cody Garbrandt. Prior to that, he beat the likes of T.J. Dillashaw, Urijah Faber, Takeya Mizukagi and Demetrious Johnson.
UFC 259 is scheduled for March 9; however, no venue or location has yet been confirmed. Keep up with Fightful for all the latest news on UFC 259 and beyond.
