Report: Dillon Danis Sucker Punched At A NYC Nightclub
Dillon Danis may be one of the more controversial fighters in MMA right now, but he was the victim of a violent attack this past Sunday Night at a burlesque club known at The Box, which is located in New York City.
According to a report from The Daily Mail (UK), a shirtless man approached Danis while he was standing by a table in the nightclub and then the attacker proceeded to leap over a few people to punch the Bellator MMA star in the face.
Video of the incident can be seen below:
Danis attempted to swing back at the assailant, but fell to the ground as a bunch of people around him started screaming and a small brawl broke out in the nightclub a few moments later.
A witness told The Daily Mail that “I was scared. It was vicious. Dillon was just sitting down relaxing and that shirtless guy with the yellow garland just attacked him.”
The same witness also told The Daily Mail that “you’re not supposed to take any photos or videos at all in the Box, they throw you out immediately if they see you doing that. But I’m an UFC fan and I knew that was Dillon Danis, so when I saw things were starting to get aggressive I pulled out my phone real quick, then I ran right out of there. All the security rushed in and loads of people, including Dillon, ran outside with me. The fight happened right before the show was about to start, I missed the show because of it, I didn’t want to go back in there after that. I didn’t hang around to see if the cops got called, I wanted to get as far away from there as possible.”
There has been no comment from Danis at this time, it is also unknown at the moment of the assailant has been caught and/or identified.
