Report: Dillon Danis Making Pro Debut This April, Training With SBG Ireland
More than a year after signing a contract with Bellator MMA, Brazilian jiu-jitsu great Dillon Danis is set to make his promotion and professional MMA debut this April according to MMA Fighting.
The fight is expected to be taking place on the main card of Bellator 198, but no opponent has been finalized at this time.
Danis is also heading to Ireland to train with John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor and the rest of the squadron over at SBG Ireland. MMA Fighting also reports that Danis should be in the country within the next week to train for his first MMA bout.
UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor originally brought the Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert in to train him him prior to the rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202, which is where the friendship between the two began. Danis still isn’t an official member of the SBG Ireland fight team as of now, but that could change prior to or after the bout at Bellator 198.
Bellator 198 takes place on Saturday, April 28 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois with Fedor Emelianenko and Frank Mir headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
