Report: Deiveson Figueiredo Cleared To Compete For Flyweight Title
There was some concern this past week that Deiveson Figueiredo wouldn’t be able to compete against Joseph Benavidez this coming Saturday Night for the vacant UFC Flyweight Title after the fighter allegedly failed a coronavirus test.
However, it appears that everything has been resolved, as the fighter passed a second coronavirus test according to Marcelo Alonso of Combate:
Deiveson Figueiredo procurando um vôo pra embarcar com a equipe hoje de noite, segundo acaba de me informar seu manager @WallidJfc o lutador comprovou que não está com a doença e foi liberado pelo médico do UFC

Here is a translation of what Alonso tweeted, courtesy of Google Translate:
Deiveson Figueiredo looking for a flight to board the team tonight, as his manager just informed me @WallidJfc the fighter proved he didn’t have the disease and was released by the UFC doctor
Alexandre Pantoja was set to replace Figueiredo if the fighter couldn’t compete at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II, but he will now face Askar Askarov as originally scheduled.
UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II takes place on Saturday, July 18 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
