Report: Daniel Cormier Asks To Be Removed From USADA Testing Pool, UFC Rankings

Daniel Cormier seems to be doubling-down on his retirement.

The former two-division UFC champion retired after suffering a unanimous decision loss to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 252. DC is reportedly sticking to those retirement plans. Aaron Bronsteter of TSN reports that Cormier told UFC President Dana White that he is withdrawing from the USADA testing pool and wants to be removed from the UFC rankings:

Cormier, if he changes his mind and decides to fight again, would have to complete six months of USADA testing before fighting again. DC currently sits at no. 7 in the UFC pound for pound rankings and no. 3 in the UFC heavyweight division rankings.

The retired former two-division UFC champion returned to the commentary both last night for Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 31 and will be at the booth this weekend for UFC Vegas 9.
