Report: Claudia Gadelha Faces Randa Markos At UFC 239
A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 239 according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #5 Claudia Gadelha is in action against #14 Randa Markos.
Gadelha (16-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last four UFC bouts, with the latest fight being a unanimous decision loss to Nina Ansaroff at UFC 231. Gadelha hasn’t picked up a win in almost a year, with that last victory coming against Carla Esparza at UFC 225. Gadelha has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale.
Markos (9-6-1) has won just one of her last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Angela Hill at UFC Fight Night Nashville. Markos is competing on a pay-per-view card for the first time in nearly three years, with that last appearance coming at UFC 202 in August of 2016. Markos has competed sixteen times as a professional MMA fighter and none of her bouts have ended by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 239 takes place on Saturday, July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Thiago Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
