Report: Christian Edwards Faces Cesar Gutierrez At Bellator 233

A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 233 according to MMA Junkie as Christian Edwards is going to be in action against Cesar Gutierrez.

Edwards (1-0-0) made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at Bellator 224, defeating Justin Vargas by first round TKO. Edwards also went undefeated as an amateur MMA fighter, with a notable win coming over Dalton Wood at Rage In The Cage OKC 55. Edwards is also a training partner of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones at Jackson-Winklejohn MMA.

Gutierrez (1-2-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so while in the midst of a two fight losing streak. Gutierrez hasn’t picked up a win in well over a year, with that last victory coming over Randy Ramirez at RCWC: Battle On Boot Hill 2. Gutierrez has competed three times as a professional MMA fighter and all of those bouts ended by way of KO/TKO.

Bellator 233 takes place on Friday, November 8 from the Winstar World Resort & Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma with John Salter and Costello Van Steenis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
