Report: Ben Henderson Signs New Deal With Bellator MMA

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson was last seen in action at Bellator 208, defeating Saad Awad by unanimous decision.

That fight was the last under Henderson’s old contract with Bellator MMA, but it will not be the final time the competitor competes in the promotion.

A report from MMA Junkie is stating that Henderson has signed a new, long term contract with Bellator MMA. The exact amount of fights and the financial numbers behind the deal aren’t known at this time.

Henderson currently holds a 3-3-0 record in Bellator MMA (26-8-0 overall), with those victories coming over the trio of Patricio Pitbull, Roger Huerta and Saad Awad. Henderson has twice before challenged for gold in the promotion, losing to then welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 153 and losing to then lightweight champion Michael Chandler at Bellator 165.

The newly signed Henderson has primarily headlined all the Bellator MMA cards that he has competed in, as Henderson was in the featured slot for five of six Bellator bouts.

There is no word at this time as to when Henderson will compete for the first time after signing a new deal with Bellator MMA or whom that fight could come against.
