Report: Bellator Signs Jaylon Bates
A new threat is reportedly making his way to the Bellator bantamweight division as the promotion has signed Jaylon Bates to a contract.
Cageside Press first reported the news.
Bates (0-0-0, 9-0-0 amateur record) will make both his professional MMA debut and Bellator debut. Bates went undefeated during a nine-fight stint as an amateur MMA fighter with seven of the nine victories coming by KO/TKO and submission. Bates held multiple titles as an amateur fighter as he is a former Tuff-N-Uff featherweight and bantamweight champion. Bates is also a former Full Contact Fighting Federation bantamweight and featherweight champion. He hasn’t competed in just about a year as his last amateur MMA fight took place in December 2019.
There is no word at this time as to when Bates will make his promotional debut or whom that bout will come against.
