Report: Bellator MMA Signs Rick Bandejas
Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) Bantamweight Champion Ricky Bandejas may be on his way to Bellator MMA, as a report from MMA Junkie says the promotion has signed the fighter to a multi-bout contract.
Bandejas (10-1-0) would enters the promotion riding a five fight winning streak and the fighter hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years. The lone loss of Bandejas’s career came to UFC veteran Nick Pace, who picked up that win via first round submission. Bandejas claimed the CFFC Bantamweight Title back at CFFC 69 in December of 2017, with that victory coming by way of fourth round knockout. Bandejas does hold a win over UFC veteran Merab Dvalishvili and he has also competed against another UFC veteran in Shane Burgos while both were amateur fighters.
The newly signed competitor enters a division currently ruled by Darrion Caldwell, but that weight class has just a total of eleven fighters in it. Bandejas also become the second signing that Bellator MMA has made this week, as the promotion signed heavyweight prospect Steve Mowry to a contract earlier this week.
There is no word at this time as to when Bandejas will make his promotional debut or whom that fight would come against.
