Report: Bellator MMA Signs Marina Mokhnatkina

A new threat is making her way to the Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Division as the promotion has signed Marina Mokhnatkina to a deal.

MMA Junkie first reported the signing, but the length of the contract or any financial numbers associated with the deal were not revealed.

Mokhnatkina (4-1-0) has exclusively competed at Fight Nights Global prior to the UFC deal and had challenged for the promotion’s women’s bantamweight title, losing to Liana Jojua by majority decision at FNG 83. Mokhnatkina had picked up four straight wins prior to the loss and all of those victories came by way of first round submission. Of those four submission wins picked up by Mokhnatkina in the FNG promotion, two came by arm bar, one came by knee bar and one came by way of Achilles lock. Mokhnatkina hasn’t competed in nearly a year now, as her last professional MMA bout came in February of 2018.

Julia Budd is the current ruler of the Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Division and she doesn’t have a bout scheduled at the moment, but last defended the gold against Talita Nogueira at Bellator 202.

There is no word at this time as to when Mokhnatkina will make her promtoional debut or whom that fight will come against.
