Report: Bellator MMA Signs Kiichi Kunimoto
Another UFC veteran is making his way over to Bellator MMA as Kiichi Kunimoto has signed a contract with the promotion.
Gong Magazine first reported the signing, but details such as the length of the contract and any financial numbers associated with the deal have yet to be released.
Kunimoto (20-7-2-1NC) will enter the promotion while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating to duo of Satoru Kitaoka and Ryuichiro Sumimura. Kunimoto did win three of five fights while competing under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over the trio of Luiz Jorge Dutra Jr., Daniel Sarafian and Richard Walsh. Kunimoto has picked up twenty victories as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of submission. Kunimoto has seen eleven of his professional MMA bouts go the distance, with Kunimoto winning seven of those encounters. Kunimoto is also going to be returning to action for the first time in approximately a year when the fighter does make his Bellator MMA debut, with the last bout coming in August of last year.
There is no word given yet as to when Kunimoto will make his promotional debut or whom that opponent is going to be when that does take place.
