Report: Bellator MMA Planning To Hold 30 More Events This Year

Bellator MMA, much like a lot of MMA promotions, has postponed and/or canceled multiple cards due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The promotion has only held four events thus far in 2020, but there are plans for Bellator MMA to hold at least thirty more cards this year.

John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reported the following:

Bellator put on four events this year before the sports shutdown and is still aiming to complete its full slate of about 30 fights by the end of the 2020. While Coker believes fighting is well-positioned to be one of the first sports back, he won’t rush anything. “We’re going to make sure that we have the ability to … get all the testing done properly because there’ll be some type of protocol,” he said.

Scott Coker recently mentioned that there are tentative plans for the promotion to hold multiple cards on a Hollywood soundstage owned by CBS/Viacom, but those plans haven’t been made official at this time.

There are no more events left on the Bellator calendar at this point until Bellator Dublin this October.
