Report: Bellator 235 Viewership Just Over 200,000

MMA fans were treated to a pair of events from Bellator MMA last weekend and one from the UFC, with Bellator 235 airing live on the Paramount Network and Bellator 236 streaming live on DAZN, while UFC Fight Night Busan streamed live on ESPN+.

Bellator 235, which was headlined by Toby Misech defeating Erik Perez by first round knockout, brought in an average of 228,000 viewers according to MMA Fighting. Other bouts on the card saw Alejandra Lara defeat Veta Arteaga, Tywan Claxton defeat Brandon Akeo and Joey Davis defeat Chris Cisneros.

The event was marred by some controversy as former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett, who was scheduled to headline against Ronny Markes, was pulled from the card at the last moment due to an illness.

Competition was at a premium for Bellator 235, with WWE Smackdown airing live on Fox, an NCAA Football bowl game on ESPN 2 and an NBA game on ESPN.

Up next for Bellator MMA is Bellator 237, which is headlined by former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson and Fedor Emelianenko, which airs live this Saturday Night on the Paramount Network.
