Report: Askar Askarov Faces Tim Elliott At UFC 246
A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 246 as #8 Tim Elliott is in action against #12 Askar Askarov.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
Elliott (15-9-1) has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC bouts, with the latest fight being a first round submission loss to Deiveson Fugueiredo at UFC Fight Night Tampa. Elliott has previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Demetrious Johnson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. Elliott has competed a total of twenty five times as a professional MMA fighter and ten of those encounters went the distance.
Askarov (10-0-1) has competed once before under the UFC banner, fighting Brandon Moreno to a split draw at UFC Fight Night Mexico City. Askarov is a former ACB Flyweight Champion, defeating Jose Maria Tome by fifth round submission at ACB 48 to win the gold. Askarov has competed a total of eleven times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
