Report: Amanda Nunes vs. Felicia Spencer Rebooked For June 6 UFC Card
A UFC Women’s Featherweight Title bout is reportedly set for June 6 as Amanda Nunes defends the gold against Felicia Spencer.
Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the news, as the fight was originally set to take place at both UFC 249 and UFC 250 being the coronavirus pandemic and injuries caused the bout to be pulled from those cards.
Nunes (19-4-0) will enter the title bout riding a ten fight winning streak and seven of those contests were title bouts. Nunes hasn’t suffered a defeat in over five years, with that last loss coming to Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in September of 2014. Nunes would be competing in her eighth straight title fight, but is making the first defense of her women’s featherweight title.
Spencer (8-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Megan Anderson and Zarah Fairn. Spencer is a former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion, defeating Pam Sorenson to win the gold at Invicta FC 32. Spencer has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of submission.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, June 6 with a location to be announced and a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
