Report: All Charges Dropped In Conor McGregor Cellphone Incident
It would appear that all the legal issues surrounding the incident are no more because Brett Okamoto of ESPN is reporting that all charges have been dropped by Ahmed Abdirzak.
A hearing to place earlier today, which is were Miami prosecutors made it known that all charges were dropped against the UFC star.
Abdirzak apparently “has been made whole” by McGregor and is now stating that McGregor never intended to injure or damage himself or his property.
Assistant State Attorney Khalil Madani says that Abdirzak “has credibility issues as he’s changed his previously sworn testimony.”
Mandani also wrote the following in a closeout memo:
“Based on the witness’s credibility issues, his unwillingness to respond to a subpoena and the inability of the witnesses to testify as to his subjective mindset, the State of Florida cannot prove the charges against Mr. McGregor beyond a reasonable doubt.”
The UFC star has other issues to deal with, including an alleged sexual assault in his native Ireland, as well as an alleged bar room brawl in Ireland. McGregor has competed since UFC 229, where he suffered a fourth round submission loss to UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
