Report: Alessio Di Chirico Faces Abu Azaitar At April UFC Event

A middleweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC event this April as Alessio Di Chirico faces Abu Azaitar.

It was Azaitar who revealed the bout through Instagram, but no official news has been released about it by the UFC at the moment.

Di Chirico (12-4-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Kevin Holland and Makhmud Muradov. Di Chirico hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming over Julian Marquez at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale. Di Chirico has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of decision.

Azaitar (14-1-1-1NC) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Vitor Miranda by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. Azaitar hasn’t competed in well over a year, as the aforementioned UFC Fight Night Hamburg event took place in July of 2018. Azaitar has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Marcin Naruszczka at Respect Fighting Championship 8 in March of 2012.

The yet to be announced event takes place on Saturday, April 11 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
