Report: Alejandra Lara Faces Juliana Velasquez At Bellator 212
A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 212 according to MMA Fighting as Alejandra Lara faces Juliana Velasquez.
Lara (7-2-0) is competing for the first time since losing a title bout against Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane via third round submission at Bellator 201. Lara has just won a single bout in Bellator MMA competition and that came over Lena Ovchynnikova via third round submission at Bellator 190. Lara has won a total of seven bouts as a professional MMA fighter, with three wins coming by KO/TKO and another three coming by way of submission.
Velasquez (7-0-0) has already competed twice under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating the duo of Na Liang and Rebecca Ruth. Velasquez is also undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and that undefeated streak has already lasted over three years. Velasquez is also a former 1 Round Combat Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Rosy Duarte in December of 2015 to claim the gold.
Bellator 212 takes place on Friday, December 14 from the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii with Brent Primus and Michael Chandler headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
