Rematch Set For UFC Fight Night 106
A welterweight division rematch has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 106 card as #14 Alex Oliveira will be again battling Tim Means.
Oliveira (15-4-1-2NC) fought Means to a no contest in their first meeting at UFC 207 this past December, the bout ended via no contest after Means hit Oliveira with an illegal knee strike. Oliveira had won five of six fights prior to that no contest with Means, with some notable wins coming over Will Brooks, KJ Noons and James Moontasri. Oliveira will be competing in Brazil for the first time in over a years time, as his last fight in Brazil came at UFC Fight Night 77 in November 2015.
Means (26-7-1-1NC) had won six of seven fights in the UFC prior to the no contest, with some big wins coming over John Howard, Dhiego Lima and George Sullivan. Means has only suffered a single defeat in the last two-plus years, that loss came to Matt Brown at UFC 189 in July 2015. It has been over two years since Means has competed in Brazil himself, his last appearance in the country came at UFC Fight Night 58 in December 2014.
UFC Fight Night 106 takes place on Saturday, March 11 from the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil with Kelvin Gastelum and Vitor Belfort headlining, the main card airs live on Fox Sports 1.
