Raquel Pennington Says Rematch With Holly Holm To Get Rescheduled
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington were set to meet for a second time this weekend at UFC 243, but Holm suffered an injury and the bout was pulled from the card. Holm would reveal that she suffered a ligament injury while training for the bout, but said injury will not require any type of surgery.
However, according to Pennington, while the bout isn’t happening at UFC 243, it will still be happening at a future event.
Pennington made that claim through Twitter:
Just want to say thanks to all my supporters unfortunately upon arrival in Australia I found out that my opponent pulled from the fight due to injury. The fight will be rescheduled so until then I’m going to enjoy this delicious donut and explore the land down under —- #TeamRocky pic.twitter.com/e0WxKUfgFo

Holm and Pennington met for the first time at UFC 184 in September of 2015, with Holm scoring a split decision victory on that night.
There has been no comment from either Holm or the UFC about the bout with Pennington being rescheduled at a future date.
