Rafael Dos Anjos Has Plastic Surgery Done After UFC 225, Colby Covington May Have Talked His Ear Off
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos didn’t just lose an opportunity to become the UFC Interim Welterweight Champion at UFC 225, but he almost lost an ear as well.
The fighter recently went on Instagram Stories to reveal that he had plastic surgery done to his left ear after the event.
MMA Fighting is also reporting that the ear that Dos Anjos had plastic surgery done on had been stitched up at least five times before that. The problems apparently started during a sparring session with former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping in 2017 and the ear was also stitched up a mere two weeks before the title bout at UFC 225.
Dos Anjos should have the stitches removed from the plastic surgery in just under two weeks and is expected to start sparring again in just under two months.
Despite the issues surrounding the ear and the latest surgery, a hopeful Dos Anjos is still expecting to be back in the Octagon by the end of the year. The loss for Dos Anjos at UFC 225 was his first as a welterweight division fight, as the Brazilian now possesses a 3-1-0 record in that weight class.
