Police: Former MMA Fighter Tyler East Shot Dead Following Domestic Dispute

Former Bellator fighter Tyler East has been shot dead following a domestic dispute involving his girlfriend.

East was killed following a dispute with his girlfriend where he is alleged to have shot her first and after dragging her outside, was shot by another man who later fled the scene. New Mexico State Police told KOB according to New Mexico State Police. The Police called to the area after receiving a report of domestic violence, officers found a female with a gunshot wound and a deceased male, who was later identified as East.

East has had a previous run-in with the law on numerous occasions of alleged incidents of domestic violence on his record over the last 12 years.

East competed 21 times as a professional MMA fighter from 2009 to 2016 and previously trained at JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque. East is the brother of former UFC fighter Cody East. East made his pro debut at Bellator 3 with a first-round knockout against Amedeo Viola. His final fight took place in October 2016 at Legacy FC 60. He was knocked out by Brian Heden in Round 1.
