Petr Yan Says He Is The Top Contender In The UFC Bantamweight Division
Petr Yan is currently ranked #4 in the UFC Bantamweight Division, with Aljamain Sterling, Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen ranked ahead of him.
Sterling recently announced that he has undergone wrist surgery, which prompted Yan to not only wish the recovering fighter well, but also declaring himself the top contender in the bantamweight division.
The fighter made that claim through Twitter:
Speedy recovery to @funkmasterMMA but with him being out there’s no question who is #1 contender in the division now! If you don’t agree I’m the next in line you can fight me on UFC 245 https://t.co/v1yk37mhiI

Yan holds a 5-0-0 record under the UFC banner (13-1-0 overall), which includes wins over Teruto Ishihara, Jin Soo Son, Douglas Silva De Andrade, John Dodson and Jimmie Rivera.
There is no word yet on who two division UFC champion Henry Cejudo is defending the bantamweight gold against next, as he is currently out of action after getting shoulder surgery. Yan also called out any fighter to challenge him this December at UFC 245, but that challenge has yet to be answered.
