Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson will join a star-studded commentary team for the upcoming Jake Paul-Ben Askren boxing matchup on April 17.
Triller, the social media company that has taken the boxing world by storm in recent months and is the lead promoter for the Paul vs. Askren fight, announced via a press release that Davidson would join other celebrities such as model Taylor Hill, actor Mario Lopez, TikTok stars Dixie and Charlie D’Amelio alongside rapper Snoop Dogg, Al Bernstein, Mike Coppinger, Ray Flores, and others as part of the night’s commentary team. The director of the night’s production Bert Marcus said the following about the inclusion of the new faces to Triller’s commentary booth.
“Viewers on April 17 will be immersed into a world unlike anything they could imagine, a true movie-like experience that reinvents the great sport of boxing by taking them into the ring in ways they’ve never seen before and also deep into the behind-the-scenes action with our fighters and musical performers as it unfolds in real-time,” said Marcus (h/t NYFights.com). “We’re thrilled to have Pete, Mario, Taylor, Dixie, and Charlie as well as Snoop, Ray, Al, and Mike as our incredible commentating team to lead people through the action. They will be unapologetically themselves, creating a vibe that is culturally savvy, raw, and unexpected.”
The expected four-hour Pay-Per-View boxing, pop culture spectacle will also feature musical performances from Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, The Black Keys, Saweetie, Diplo, Major Lazer, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, and Too $hort. The event takes place from the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and will include Regis Prograis taking on Ivan Redkach as well as former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir going up against Steve Cunningham.
