Paul Felder Reconsiders Retiring: “I’m Not Going Anywhere”
Paul Felder returned to action in the main event of UFC Vegas 14, suffering a split decision loss to Rafael Dos Anjos.
A defeated Felder, who was once considering retirement, says that he’s not going anywhere.
“I can tell you guys with certainty: I’m not going anywhere right now,” Felder said during his post-fight interview (via Tristen Critchfield of Sherdog). “I lost my passion for this sport pretty bad. I can tell you I’m not done. I might lose my ranking a little bit, but what I’ve learned in this sport is none of that matters. What matters is going out there, showing up, showing who you are inside and what determination you have.”
Felder first started hinting at retirement after suffering a close decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night Auckland, but the fighter has obviously changed his mind.
The fighter, who accepted the bout on less than a weeks notice, also took aim at the fighters who missed weight for the event.
“For the guys that missed weight and couldn’t make it here tonight, get your stuff together, hire a nutritionist, get on the scale, make weight, and go perform. I was dying on Thursday night to get on that scale at 156 pounds and I did it,” Felder said.
