Paige VanZant Set For Commentary Debut At Inaugural Gamebred Fighting Championship Event
Bare Knuckle FC star Paige VanZant is set to trade in her wrist tape for a microphone…for at least one night.
According to FightBananas.com, VanZant is set to join American Top Team founder Dan Lambert as well as former Bellator MMA play-by-play man Sean Wheelock at the commentary table for Jorge Masvidal’s new Bareknuckle promotion Gamebred Fighting Championship’s inaugural event on June 18 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
VanZant is set to return to the BKFC ring on July 23 when she meets fellow former UFC contender Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19.
Colby Covington Says He Would’ve Easily Beaten Georges St-Pierre
Colby Covington doesn’t think Georges St-Pierre would’ve caused him much trouble.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion had some choice words for the commonly referred to 170-pound greatest of all-time when appearing on the MMA Roasted Podcast.
“Georges St-Pierre – his striking was very basic, very kindergarten,” explained Covington. “He didn’t have a lot of tricks. He just had that really good jab, but that’s pretty easy to counter if you’re moving your head and using footwork. I think Georges St-Pierre would have been a very extremely easy fight for me. He was ahead of his time. There were a lot of guys that time that were one-dimensional. They were either strikers or they were wrestlers, but they weren’t good at blending both.”

According to Combate, a trio of bouts are also set for this fall as Bruno Rodrigues (12-3-1) faces CJ Vergara (8-2-1) on September 7, Hugo Canha (6-0) puts his unblemished record on the line agains Martin Buday on October 12 and Jansey Silva (7-1) will square off with Gadzhi Omargadzhiev (12-0) on October 26.
