Paddy Pimblett Signs New Deal With Cage Warriors

Former Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion Paddy Pimblett recently stated that he had no desire to compete on the UFC Fight Night Liverpool card.

The fighter apparently wasn’t bluffing because he has just signed a new multi-fight deal with the UK based MMA promotion.

As part of that new deal, an ecstatic Pimblett is going to be headlining the Cage Warriors 96 event from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. That is the same venue that the UFC is going to be hosting the UFC Fight Night Liverpool event from in just a few months.

There is no word yet on just whom Pimblett could be facing in that main event, but it could be a title bout since the Cage Warriors Featherweight Title is currently vacant.

Pimblett currently holds a 9-2-0 record in Cage Warriors (14-2-0 overall), last defeating Alexis Savvidis by submission at CWFC 90. Pimblett captured the CWFC Featherweight Title by defeating Johnny Frachey at CWFC 78, but would lose it in his second championship defense to recent UFC signee Nad Narimani at CWFC 82.

Cage Warriors 96 takes place on Saturday, September 1 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Paddy Pimblett and an opponent to be announced headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams on UFC Fight Pass.
