One Fight Added; One Fight Pulled From Bellator 172

The upcoming Bellator 172 card has undergone a few changes.

For starters, the lightweight bout between Adam Picolotti and Brent Primus has been pulled from the card after Picolotti suffered an injury. Also, a welterweight bout has been added to the card, as Josh Koscheck will be taking on Mauricio Alonso.

Koscheck (17-10-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he will be doing so while riding a five fight winning streak. Koscheck hasn’t earned a victory in over five years, with his last win being a split decision victory over Mike Pierce at UFC 143. This will be the first time in over twelve years that Koscheck has competed outside of the UFC, the only other promotions he has competed in are Ring Of Combat and King Of The Cage.

Alonso (12-7-0-1NC) will also be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he will be doing so on a two fight winning streak. Alonso is a former Predator Fighting Championships Welterweight Champion, having defeated Roberto Ferreira to win the gold in 2012. Alonso is 0-1-0 against UFC veterans, with the loss coming to Daniel Sarafian at First Class Fight 5 in October of 2010.

Bellator 172 takes place on Saturday, February 18 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione headlining.
