Nick Diaz Turned Down Fight

Former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz hasn’t competed since January 2015, where he suffered a decision defeat to former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

Diaz would then serve a near two-year suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for failing a drug test after the Silva bout.

A little over a month ago, Diaz was cleared by the NAC to not only fight again, but participate in all fight related activities.

Diaz, despite the fact he’s now cleared to step into the octagon and fight again, doesn’t seem to be in much of a rush according to UFC President Dana White.

"I offered him a fight,” White said to Champions.co. “They turned it down.”

It’s unknown at this point in time about why Diaz turned down the fight or which fighters were offered to Diaz for his return to the octagon.

Nick brother, Nate Diaz, has been seen in the octagon more lately, fighting former UFC Featherweight Champion and current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor at both UFC 196 and UFC 202, a trilogy fight has been rumored between Nate and McGregor since the last fight at UFC 202 ended.

Recently, current UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley has offered to fight Nick Diaz, but as of now, it doesn’t appear that we will see Diaz in the octagon anytime soon.
