New Flyweight Champion To Be Crowned In LFA 78 Main Event
The vacant Legacy Fighting Alliance Flyweight Title is going to be getting a new owner at LFA 78 as Brandon Royval is going to be in action against Jerome Rivera.
Royval (9-4-0) has won five of seven bouts under the LFA banner, which includes a win over the aforementioned Rivera in their first meeting at LFA 39. Royval competed less than six months ago at LFA 65, defeating UFC veteran Joby Sanchez by first round submission. Royval also competed once in the World Series Of Fighting, defeating Danny Mainus by first round knockout at the WSOF 29.
Rivera (7-2-0) is going to be entering the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Roberto Sanchez and the aforementioned Royval. Rivera is also going to be back in action for the first time in over a year, as his last bout took place on May of 2018. Rivera hasn’t picked up a victory on over two years time, with that last win coming against Zac Riley at LFA 10 in April of 2017.
Legacy Fighting Alliance 78 takes place on Friday, October 4 from the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado with Brandon Royval and Jerome Rivera headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
