Nate Diaz Willing To Face Conor McGregor Again, If His Schedule Allows It
The Stockton native is willing to face former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor for a third time, but only if the rubber match fits in his schedule.
“If that’s something that works into the schedule,” Diaz said at the UFC 241 post-fight press conference (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “I’m going to fight the baddest dudes, the biggest, baddest shows that people want to see. That’s what I want to see, that’s what I want to do, so it’s up to everybody that’s involved in that. If they want it, they’re going to call me and tell me they want it.”
Diaz and McGregor have fought twice before, with Diaz winning at UFC 196 and McGregor winning at UFC 202.
A victorious Diaz also believes that not enough fighters called him out during the fighter’s two-plus year absence.
“I don’t think they know how to do it,” Diaz said. “I don’t think anybody knows how to do it, and everybody’s beginners, scared or something. I don’t want to be all full of myself and riding on a high horse and cocky and (expletive), but I got way too much money to be having to fight somebody that’s not interesting.”
McGregor hasn’t competed since a loss to UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 and doesn’t have another bout booked at the moment.
